Community Resource Closet

The Resource Closet exists to fill the gaps for children and families connected to foster care in our community. When a child is placed with little notice, when a kinship caregiver says “yes” without having supplies, or when a family is navigating a new season, practical needs shouldn’t become added stress.

We provide thoughtfully gathered essentials- clothing, shoes, hygiene items, backpacks, comfort items, and other basic necessities- so children feel seen, valued, and cared for from day one. This isn’t just about meeting physical needs. It’s about restoring dignity, reducing overwhelm, and reminding families that they are not alone.

How You Can Get Involved

There is a place for everyone to play a role:

  • Donate Items – Give new or gently used clothing, shoes, diapers, hygiene products, or comfort items for children and teens.

  • Host a Drive – Rally your church, business, small group, or neighborhood to collect specific, high-need items.

  • Sponsor a Placement Kit – Help us prepare ready-to-go bags for children entering care.

  • Volunteer – Sort donations, organize inventory, pack bags, or help families shop with dignity.

  • Partner as a Business or Church – Provide ongoing support, sponsor shelves, or adopt a category of need.

The Resource Closet is not about one organization doing more. It’s about a community choosing to do it together- so that no child enters care without the essentials, and no foster or kinship family feels unsupported.

If you’d like to donate, volunteer, or partner with us, we would love to help you find your place in this work.
