Caring for the Vulnerable
The Church has always been called to move toward the vulnerable, not away from them. Caring for children and families impacted by foster care is not a one-size-fits-all effort. Every church has a unique calling, culture, and capacity, and there are many meaningful ways to step in—from supporting foster and adoptive families, to serving biological parents, to mobilizing volunteers and prayer.
We help churches discern how to engage in a way that aligns with their mission and values. With experience in foster care, trauma-informed support, and community collaboration, we come alongside your leadership to create a clear, sustainable path forward. You shepherd your people. We help you find the way your church can faithfully and effectively care for the vulnerable in your own community.
Our Services
We help churches establish or strengthen a foster care and adoption ministry that fits their size, mission, and culture. From vision casting and leadership structure to policies, partnerships, and volunteer teams, we walk alongside you to create a sustainable ministry that supports children and families well.
We equip pastors, leaders, and volunteers with practical, gospel-centered trauma training. Churches learn the basics of trauma, attachment, and how to care for children and families with wisdom, compassion, and appropriate boundaries so they can serve with confidence and understanding.
We come alongside your ministry and foster families with tangible support—resources, connections, and practical help. By helping coordinate meals, childcare, prayer, training, and community partnerships, we strengthen the support system around the families in your church so they are not carrying this calling alone.
“The church is called to serve the orphan from James 1:27 and we’re uniquely structured to provide care for those who do. Even though we can’t all foster, we can all do something to serve those who do. If you’re unsure of where to start, The Fostering Project can provide the direction and resources to help your church make a huge impact.”
